Tasty Chef Tasty Town Map Guide
Read every pin before you spend gold outside the milk tea shop.
Tasty Town is the overworld in Tasty Chef. Official screenshots show a canal village with named buildings, not a list of numbered stages. This page is the map legend. Use it after getting started so you do not walk into Style Boutique outfits before you can finish a Milk Tea.
Steam lists a September 2026 window for the full game. The demo’s Current Shop is the Milk Tea Shop. Other pins matter, but they do not all open a kitchen.
How to open the map
From an idle shop hub, press Town on the left column. The screen title in shots is Tasty Town, with a subtitle to choose a destination. Gold sits in the corner. A back arrow returns you to the shop. Nothing on this map starts a service by itself. You pick a building, do the errand, then return and press Start Service.
If you are still learning tickets, keep how to play nearby. If you only care about the first kitchen, skip ahead to the milk tea shop guide.
Buildings confirmed on the demo map
Official town art labels these stops:
- Milk Tea Shop — Current Shop. This is the playable kitchen in the demo. Full walkthrough: milk tea shop.
- Hiring Agency — Recruit Staff. Opens the animal employee board covered in hiring staff. Rarity tags such as R, SR, and SSR live here, not in Build Mode.
- Style Boutique — Change Appearance. Cosmetics. Spend here after the brew line works, not before the second cup rack. Full rule: Style Boutique.
- Town Bank — Gold and town funds. Conversion, not a second kitchen. Details sit on the gold economy tool.
- Bakery — Under Construction. Do not plan day-one ovens.
- Sushi Restaurant — Under Construction, with store screenshots of a conveyor pit for later. Compare venues on restaurant types.
Steam’s full page mentions sushi and bakery. The demo page also mentions pizzerias. Key art shows a burger shop. Until a pin reads Current Shop on your map, treat that kitchen as announced.
What to do in Town versus in the shop
Town is errands. The shop is service. A healthy loop looks like this:
- End Shift if a service is live.
- Check Stock Alert and crates in the shop — ingredients and storage.
- Open Town only if you need a hire, a cosmetic, or a bank trip.
- Return. Rebuild with kitchen layout if the last shift felt slow.
- Start Service.
Players who live on the town map never learn Take over. Players who never open Town never hire a restocker. Split the two rooms.
Hiring Agency, briefly
The agency is the front door to Shop Team and Reserve. You still set duties — Take Orders, Make & Serve Drinks, Restock Supplies — on the staff card. A screenshot with 38 of 38 assigned seats is a late kitchen. A new milk tea line wants one greeter and one drink maker. Rank roles on the staff list before you buy an SSR for the look of it.
Style Boutique, briefly
The full spending rule is the Style Boutique guide. Appearance does not brew tea. If a shift is dying, outfits will not save the rating tracked on the ratings guide. Buy a cup rack first. The boutique is a reward for a stable corridor, not a tutorial step.
Town Bank, briefly
Gold in the shop HUD and town funds are related, not identical. The bank is the conversion desk. Wages, upgrades, and machine purchases still happen in the shop. If you cannot find milk, the bank will not spawn a crate. Use the gold economy checklist before you dump a surplus into town funds you do not understand yet.
Bakery and sushi pins
Under construction means you cannot staff them in the current demo slice. Official sushi Build Mode shows Fish Processing, Shrimp Peeling, a Rice Cooker, and a Conveyor Belt. That kit is ranked on the equipment list. Copying a tea corridor onto a belt is a waste of gold the day those pins flip. When they flip, this page will say Current Shop. Until then, preview, do not pre-build.
Co-op on the map
Friends do not need to tour Town together. One player can hire while the other rebuilds the aisle. Service still wants a split: brew versus ice and toppings, as in co-op. Town is a poor place to stand during a rush.
A 10-minute Town drill
Open Town. Name every pin out loud. Note which one is Current Shop. Note which two are under construction. Return to the milk tea shop without buying a cosmetic. Serve five tickets. If you still want the boutique, you earned it. That drill is the whole map skill.
Steam store URLs live on the Steam page. Demo limits live on demo and playtest and store status. When Xpercent Games adds a pin, we edit this legend first, then the restaurant types list.
